The atmosphere evokes Sleepy Hollow and Corpse Bride, but infused with Gaga’s signature expressiveness — bold, theatrical, and full of emotion.

Speculation around the video began back in July, when Gaga was spotted with Tim Burton on Mexico’s Island of the Dolls. At the time, fans could only guess, but the singer later confirmed: the new single was written specifically for Wednesday. Now the mystery has been revealed.

In addition to the song, the artist also landed a small acting role in the show. In the second season of Wednesday, Gaga appears as Rosalind Rothwood, a teacher at Nevermore Academy.
