Lisa Marie Presley, who passed away in 2023 at the age of 54, revealed in her memoir From Here To The Great Unknown that she was taking up to 80 opioid pills a day at the peak of her addiction.
The dependence began after the C-section birth of her twin daughters, Finley and Harper, and worsened following the tragic loss of her son, Benjamin, in 2020.
Her daughter, actress Riley Keough, helped finish the memoir, sharing how Lisa Marie battled addiction and later sought sobriety.
Although opioids were found in her system at the time of her death, her passing was due to complications from bariatric surgery, not the drugs. Riley hopes the memoir will honor her mother's true, complex self beyond the headlines.
