52-Year-Old Cameron Diaz Returns to Acting After 10 Years of Silence

Cameron Diaz is ready to shine in Hollywood once again, and her return promises to be a highlight of the year!

Cameron Diaz, the renowned actress and one of Hollywood's most influential women, made an appearance at the Fortune magazine summit held at the Ritz Carlton in California.

This marks her first public appearance in many years, where she shared details about her return to the big screen after a decade-long hiatus.

For the event, Diaz chose an elegant outfit: a black blouse, wide trousers, and loafers, complemented by gold earrings and pink lipstick.

Reasons for Leaving Acting

After the release of Annie in 2014, which received mixed reviews, Cameron suddenly decided to end her acting career. In 2015, she married Benji Madden, the frontman of Good Charlotte, and stepped away from the public eye. At the summit, the actress explained that her departure was necessary:

"I needed to reclaim my life. I no longer cared about other people's opinions, offers, or successes. I decided to take care of myself and build the life I truly wanted."

Over the past 10 years, Diaz dedicated herself to family life and raising her children—daughter Raddix, born in 2019, and son Cardinal, who arrived in March 2024. She also engaged in other projects, including writing health books and, in 2020, co-founding the organic wine brand Avaline with Katherine Power.

Return to the Screen

In 2022, Diaz announced her return to acting. She has already filmed a comedic action movie for Netflix titled Back in Action alongside Jamie Foxx, with the premiere set for January 2025.

According to the actress, her decision to return to Hollywood was met with skepticism:

"Many said, 'It's all over for you.' But I replied, 'No, it's not over. This is just the beginning.'"
Cameron emphasized that her husband, Benji Madden, has been her main support:

"He said, 'You created our family; now it's time to support you.' He inspired me to come back, and I said, 'Easy!'"
Diaz also admitted that she couldn’t turn down Jamie Foxx:

"He said, 'Act with me,' and I just replied, 'Okay.' This is our third film together, and I'm so excited!"
Additionally, according to Hollywood Reporter, the actress will also lend her voice to the fifth installment of Shrek and is in negotiations to star with Keanu Reeves in a comedy titled The Backup Plan.
