The 67th Annual Grammy Awards took place on Sunday, February 2, 2025, in Los Angeles, USA.
Beyoncé has nearly 100 Grammy nominations, and she finally received the evening’s top trophy—winning Album of the Year, which was presented to her by some very special guests.
To present the final award, the Recording Academy invited Los Angeles firefighters, including the Los Angeles County Fire Chief.
After the nominees were announced, Berkoh excitedly read the winner’s name—Queen Bey had finally won her first-ever Album of the Year award!
As expected, Beyoncé immediately jumped up and hugged Jay-Z before making her way to the microphone, holding her daughter Blue Ivy in her arms. She thanked the firefighters for their bravery and noted that this award had been a long time coming.
This was her second win of the evening—the first being Best Country Album, which was presented to her by none other than Taylor Swift.
As mentioned earlier, this is Beyoncé’s first win in this category. Last year, Jay-Z publicly pointed out that his wife had never won this trophy—a moment that became both memorable and slightly awkward.
By the way, the entire Grammy ceremony was focused on raising awareness for the recovery efforts in wildfire-affected areas of Los Angeles. A QR code regularly appeared on-screen, allowing viewers to donate.
The Los Angeles firefighters received the loudest standing ovation of the night… but Beyoncé’s victory was certainly an equally unforgettable moment.
