Her love story with Tom Ackerley reads almost like a movie script: they met on the set of the Second World War drama Suite Française, where Tom was the third assistant director. Even before their romantic relationship began, they were housemates in London and later co-founded their own production company, LuckyChap.

In 2016, the couple married in a small, private ceremony in Byron Bay, Australia. In October 2024, Margot gave birth to their first child. “I’m trying to keep this part of my life private and protect him,” the actress says about her one-year-old son. “Earlier in my career, I was more open in interviews. I’ve been misunderstood so many times, with my words taken out of context.”

Now, Margot sets her own boundaries. “When you shift from your twenties to your thirties and beyond, you think, ‘I’m going to do things differently. Here are my new boundaries.’” And it shows: the actress maintains a balance between her public life and personal happiness, while continuing to grow her career and production projects.
