WHERE’S YOUR HEAD AT, GIGI HADID? — the question sounds bold, almost provocative. But in the new issue of LOVE: DEAD SERIOUS, it takes on both a literal and a philosophical meaning.
WHERE’S YOUR HEAD AT, GIGI HADID? — the question sounds bold, almost provocative. But in the new issue of LOVE: DEAD SERIOUS, it takes on both a literal and a philosophical meaning.
Inspired by the cult film Death Becomes Her, Gigi Hadid steps into a world where eternal youth isn’t a dream—it’s a temptation. And, as in any darkly themed fairy tale, the price is higher than it first appears.
In the iconic 1992 film, Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn played rivals who drank a magical elixir promising immortal beauty and youth. But behind the flawless skin and smooth forehead lurked a disturbing truth: the loss of humanity.
Today, decades later, the story feels almost documentary-like. Injections, filters, retouching, flawless social media feeds—we live in an era where aging is perceived as a system error.
And here, Gigi takes a step into this illusion.
In the shoot for LOVE: DEAD SERIOUS, Gigi is not just a model—she is a character. A woman seduced by the promise of perfection.
Glossy skin, porcelain gaze, sculptural silhouettes—it all seems suspended between reality and fantasy. She glides through the frame as if she doesn’t touch the ground. And at one point… she loses her head.
Literally.
It’s a visual metaphor for our time: in the pursuit of flawlessness, we risk losing ourselves.
Beauty has always been a power. But when it becomes an obsession, a troubling question arises: is there still room for genuine emotions, laugh lines, fatigue, imperfection?
In this project, Gigi seems to balance between goddess and doll. And in that tension lies the full truth of contemporary glamour.
The aesthetic of the shoot is exaggerated, almost theatrical. Minimal yet dramatic looks, a cold glow on the skin, artificial perfection.
These aren’t just beautiful images. They reflect a world where the filter sometimes matters more than reality.
LOVE isn’t just creating a fashion editorial. The magazine asks an uncomfortable question: what remains when the mask of perfection is removed?
Through this project, Gigi Hadid shows that you can be an icon while still daring to speak about the industry’s fears.
Her image is both fantasy and warning. Yes, we can strive to become the best version of ourselves. But it’s essential to remember that true allure lies in energy, character, and gaze—not in the absence of aging.
Because being “forever young” isn’t about skin. It’s about the fire within.
