"It was the hardest thing I've ever done": Hailey Bieber opens up about childbirth, hate, and self-love

Strong, beautiful, fragile, and bold — Hailey Bieber needs no introduction. But behind the flawless makeup, stylish looks, and glossy photos is a woman on her own journey — one filled with pain, doubts, tears, and incredible strength. In a major interview for Vogue’s summer issue, she spoke candidly for the first time about her most personal experiences: motherhood, difficult childbirth, life under the spotlight, and, most importantly, self-love.

Her path is more than just a modeling career. It’s a life lived in front of the whole world. From early photoshoots to marrying pop star Justin Bieber at 21, from gossip to launching her successful brand Rhode — Hailey is always in the public eye. But the glamorous lifestyle and millions of followers don’t erase the fact that behind the shine is a real woman with real feelings.

While Justin faced health challenges and took a career break, Hailey became the anchor. Work, beauty business, caring for family — all amid constant hate. Especially painful were the endless rumors that she “stole” Justin from Selena Gomez. The internet doesn’t forgive and often shows no mercy.

“Every two days, a new headline,” she says. Yet she remains calm: “We’re staying in Los Angeles. We like it here.”

In August 2024, Hailey became a mother. And, as she admits, it was not only long-awaited but also the hardest event in her life. Eighteen hours of labor with complications and severe bleeding — it was terrifying. But it was precisely fear and pain that unlocked a new level of strength within her.

“I bled a lot. It was scary,” she recalls. But since then, much has changed. This new reality required a new relationship with herself: her body is no longer the same, emotions fluctuate, hormones go wild. But Hailey gives herself time.

“I reminded myself every day: you gave birth to a person. You deserve a break.”

She doesn’t aim to “get back” into shape — she is creating a new version of herself. One that didn’t just endure everything but became stronger.

The internet can be cruel. But Hailey has learned to set boundaries. She chooses what truly matters: real people, real life, a real home. “I wake up next to my husband and son. I have people who love me. That’s what counts.”

And yes, with the help of therapy, exercise, and self-care. Pilates, meditation, skincare, healthy eating — her daily ritual isn’t about perfection but about care and inner stability.

Today, Hailey doesn’t feel the need to prove anything to anyone. She knows who she is. She knows the value of her journey. And she knows that true love begins with oneself.

“I no longer let the outside world shape my inside. I know who I am — and that’s enough for me.”
