Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson have split after ten years of marriage.
In a heartfelt statement, Jessica shared: "Eric and I have been living separately, navigating a challenging situation in our marriage. Our children come first, and we are focused on what is best for them. We are grateful for all the love and support we have received and appreciate our privacy as we work through this as a family."
The couple began their relationship in 2010, got engaged the same year, and tied the knot in 2014. They have three children: 12-year-old Maxwell, 11-year-old Ace, and 5-year-old Birdie.
Their children play a significant role in their lives, and Jessica and Eric strive to maintain a stable environment for them. Maxwell is passionate about sports and dreams of becoming a professional tennis player. Ace loves music and is already taking his first steps in playing the guitar. Meanwhile, little Birdie brings joy to her parents with her creative approach to everything, whether it's drawing or inventing stories.
This was the second marriage for both Jessica and Eric. Jessica was previously married to Nick Lachey in the early 2000s, but the couple divorced in 2006. Eric, on the other hand, was married to Keri D’Angelo in the mid-to-late 2000s.
Rumors of marital issues began circulating when the couple was spotted without their wedding rings. In November, Jessica also hinted at personal struggles, referring to her "comeback" on social media as "an apology to myself for putting up with things I didn’t deserve."
Sources close to the couple revealed that someone in Jessica’s circle had reached out to a divorce attorney, expressing her dissatisfaction with the marriage, although Jessica herself hadn’t contacted the lawyer at the time.
The couple’s split came nearly a year after Jessica started dividing her time between Los Angeles and Nashville, where she has been recording new music. While Jessica worked in Tennessee, Eric stayed in Los Angeles with their children.
Jessica has also faced personal challenges, including significant weight fluctuations and celebrating seven years of sobriety.
The story of this couple has come to an end, but both are focused on co-parenting their children as they move into a new chapter of their lives.
