What is a Japanese manicure, why can it be a great alternative to gel polish, and why should everyone try it? A Japanese manicure is recommended for those who prefer healthy, natural nail shine. "It's a story of a trend that has transformed into a lifestyle — green, healthy, natural."

Japanese manicure is an intensive hand care treatment, exclusively a salon procedure that cannot be replicated at home. It is done without aggressive actions like cutting the skin. During a Japanese manicure, the specialist uses files made of calfskin, paste, and powder based on beeswax. No cutting tools or electric files are used. It's perfect for those who value natural beauty and care about the health of their nails. The main goal of the procedure is to restore and heal the nails without artificial strengthening or coverage, but through the use of effective natural components and the expert's perfect technique.

How is a Japanese Manicure Done

The process is as follows:

The specialist softens the rear nail ridge (the small space behind the cuticle). If there are any calluses, they are smoothed with files.

Then, the nails are shaped using a file, and any excess is removed with keratolytic agents/removers.

Next, a paste is applied to each nail, which is a kind of natural building material: it saturates the nail plate with bioactive microelements that stimulate the growth of healthy and strong nails. Using a special suede buffer, the paste is rubbed into the nails.

The final stage of the Japanese manicure is polishing when the specialist rubs powder based on beeswax into the nail plate. This creates the impression that the nails are dense, glossy, and almost glass-like.

Important: It is not recommended to do a Japanese manicure immediately after removing gel polish, as the nail plate is already thinned. A break between treatments is needed.

Gel polish is also not applied right after a Japanese manicure: it simply won't adhere to the powder, which is made from beeswax.
