What was Season 1 of "Squid Game" About?

Season 1 of "Squid Game" tells the story of 456 participants who are in difficult financial situations. They receive mysterious invitations to participate in a deadly survival game where each win earns the player a substantial amount of money. However, the stakes are incredibly high: if you lose, you not only lose money but also your life.

The main character, Lee Jung-jae (Player 456), is an unemployed middle-aged man who has fallen into a financial trap. After his life becomes hopeless, he decides to take part in the game, not knowing that it will turn into a deadly trap. Alongside him, other participants join the game, including both naive and shrewd people who must fight for their lives.

Each round of the game is based on classic children's games, but with bloody and deadly consequences for the losers. The players face moral dilemmas, as in order to survive, they must not only overcome physical challenges but also form alliances and betray others. The series raises questions of social inequality, human cruelty, and morality in extreme survival conditions.

In the season finale, Lee Jung-jae emerges victorious, but his story is far from over. This sets the stage for the development of the plot in the second season.

What is Season 2 of "Squid Game" About?

The events of Season 2 unfold immediately after the victory of Lee Jung-jae, the main character of Season 1, known as Player 456. The man refuses to move to the United States and returns to the deadly survival game to get revenge on the organizers and help new players.

There will be new competitions and rules in the game. For instance, after each competition, participants can vote to end the game and take the amount of money they have earned so far, but only if the majority votes "yes."
